Asymmetric dial

A characteristic aspect of this model is its asymmetric dial layout, designed in accordance with the so-called “Golden Ratio”. The axes of all hands lie on a single vertical line in the left half of the dial. The right side presents the splendid moon phase, the Panorama Date and the month display.

Crown

Like the case, the finely fluted crown is fashioned in solid red gold, and then adorned with our Double G symbol. The date, month and the time of day, too, can be set using the crown, which can be pulled out to different positions.

Month display

The 12 months are displayed in a curved window. The sapphire crystal is tinted grey, with the exception of the month numerals. The indicators on the month ring beneath it, which completes one revolution every four years, ensure that only one digit at a time is highlighted.

Panorama Date

The characteristic Panorama Date, which completes the information provided by the annual calendar, is one of Glashütte Original’s trademark features. Thanks to two concentrically arranged display discs, both date numerals can be read at a glance, with no need for a central separation bar.

Moon phase

The moon disc is fascinating thanks to its 3D effect. First, galvanisation creates the deep blue night sky, to which gold-coloured stars are applied. Then two “moons” are cut out and machined using a special diamond milling tool, which results in the remarkable brilliance of the surface.

Typical features and bayonet mount

The sapphire crystal case back reveals various features of the Glashütte art of watchmaking, including the traditional perlage finish, bevelled edges, blued screws, the characteristic three-quarter plate with Glashütte stripe finish, and the skilfully hand-engraved balance bridge. Similar to the manner in which a camera lens is mounted, the innovative bayonet mounting of the movement in the case provides robust stability. This renders the entire construction exceptionally shock-resistant.

Silicon balance spring & butterfly bridge

Evidence of the new calibre’s contemporary ambitions is provided by the silicon balance spring, which oscillates beneath the artfully engraved butterfly bridge. It is unaffected by temperature fluctuations or magnetic fields, thus ensuring maximum precision.

100 hours running time

The off-centre skeletonized rotor with a solid gold oscillating mass delivers energy reliably to the automatic movement. When fully wound, the PanoMaticCalendar has a running time of 100 hours, so the wearer can easily set the watch aside for four days without having to set the time again.

Metronome and life companion

Our perception of time depends to a great degree on interior moods and external influences. In certain happy moments, time seems to stand still, a carefree summer day flies by, and a perfectly ordinary weekday can turn into a personal holiday.

Each moment is full of possibilities, every encounter and any one day can assume a special meaning. Time is not simply the irremovable metronome of our lives; it calls up exceptionally powerful emotions, hopes and memories. Glashütte Original brings these emotions to the wrist with the PanoMaticCalendar, which becomes a reliable confidant for a lifetime.

Unmistakable in red gold and platinum

Contemporary, purist and unmistakable. The new timepiece is available in red gold and in a limited edition in platinum. The case on the red gold model is slightly domed and sits comfortably on the wrist. The dial on this model is in silver opaline, while the auxiliary dials for hour, minute and small seconds appear with a finely fluted vinyl-type decorative pattern. Golden appliques and hands coated with Super-LumiNova® set brilliant accents, which are taken up by the golden frame of the Panorama Date.

The skeletonized version in platinum represents a completely different approach. The model, which is limited to 150 pieces, offers views of the month wheel, the moon phase switch and the date discs. The skeletonized, galvanic black dial is set with applied indexes in white gold. The minute and hour hands are blued and coated with Super-LumiNova®. In keeping with the watch’s dark look, the month display appears in white against a black background.

Premiere of a new movement

With the PanoMaticCalendar we present a new automatic movement developed in-house, in two different forms: as Calibre 92-09 in the red gold version and as Calibre 92-10 in the platinum model. Both movements are rhodium plated; the movement in the platinum model makes a particularly striking impression thanks to its elegant black rhodium hue.

In the interior of the movement, a silicon balance spring and a frequency of 28,800 half-oscillations per hour ensure exceptional rate precision. Additional features include a remarkable running time of 100 hours, impressive resistance and ease of use. The retrograde month display, date and time are easily set using the crown.

Compared to the perpetual calendar, the annual calendar is a relatively recent complication. It displays the date and month, taking the months with 30 and 31 days into account. Only once a year, on March 1st, is it necessary to correct the date. No question about it: this masterpiece is clearly a genuine original from the tradition-rich centre of Glashütte watchmaking.
